We had a successful budget cycle in Columbia this past year. Although we did not receive all the funding that we asked for, we made inroads in many of our strategic priorities.
For example, the College was allocated:
- More than $289,000 in recurring monies for our Supply Chain Management Program.
- The same recurring amount for our Computer Science Program.
- $1.75 million in nonrecurring monies for the repurposing of the Stern Student Center pool area.
- $150,000 in nonrecurring monies for the Avery Research Center.
The state legislature has shown a great deal of support for our vision to bolster programs that benefit the Lowcountry and South Carolina. We will continue to bring budget requests to the legislature that will resonate with them and enhance the experience we offer at the College.
