Each year, the College of Charleston welcomes accepted students and their families, from all over the country, in an effort to show them the power of a College of Charleston education. We create opportunities for these prospective students and their families to meet with current students, faculty, staff and alumni so that they may see the incredibly personalized educational experience that we offer here.
On March 18 and 19, we held our annual Accepted Students Weekend. More than 1,000 prospective students and about 2,800 family members spent the weekend on campus. They had the opportunity to tour our facilities, learn about our academic and student life programs and interact with various campus constituencies.
On Saturday morning, March 19, I had the privilege to speak to our prospective students and their families. I spoke about my time as a student, our world-class scholarly faculty, our history and traditions, and, of course, the power of a College of Charleston education.
The efforts of our Accepted Students Weekend usually yield terrific results for us. In previous years, approximately 80% of the students who attend our Accepted Students Weekend enrolled at the College. We’re hopeful that the percentage for this year will be similar, if not higher.
